I just realized that I never posted anything about running in my second 5K race (May 6, 2006). I was convinced (or shamed) into running in the Mercy Wild Run 5K race by my (formerly good) friend Adam. I completed the race with a time slightly over my goal of 23 minutes (which was probably not realistic considering the large hill at the end of the course). Here are the official results along with a couple of pictures.
After making that mistake, my friend Ben now wants me to participate in a triathlon with him.

A couple of months ago, my department (the CIS department at K-State) hosted a social gathering. During the gathering I found out that my dad‘s girlfriend, Jessie Ann Arnold of Oklahoma City, OK, is a secret fan of Willie the Wildcat.
This is probably news to all her friends and family since she has always portrayed herself as a huge Oklahoma Sooners fan (University of Oklahoma). She went to school there, was a cheerleader, holds season tickets for their football team, and is an all around supporter of the university. But, as you can see in the picture, she is quite happy to hang out with, and actually enjoy the time, with Willie. It seems obvious that she has just been denying her own nature this whole time. Some would say she is coming out of the closet.
Ok, maybe not. Maybe I just convinced her to pose in this picture so I could give her a hard time. Hard to tell!
