Over the last couple of weeks I have been participating in Paint Fest 2007. This is a festival held ever year, starting this year, near Manhattan, KS. The idea is to get people together that enjoy painting and turn it into a social event.
Ok, that isn’t exactly right. Paint Fest 2007 is really me painting my kitchen and dining room, largely by myself, according to Kari’s specifications. Here are some before pictures that give you an idea of what the boring paint looks like. That was the original paint that the builder put in when we bought the house. The same color is used everywhere!
And here are some after pictures that show just how great of a job I did. I should point out that Kari picked out the colors and Jeremy, my neighbor, helped out with some of the painting.
Kari also took several pictures of me as I was working on the project. I assume she took them to use as evidence when she sues me for malpractice. Or maybe she took them to show her family that I am not completely useless. Anyway, all of the pictures she took are available on the wallentine.com picture gallery.

One blog that I regularly read is by Eric Sink. In it, he usually talks about his business, SourceGear, and matters related to running a small software company. In one of his blog entries, he was talking about a new advertising campaign that SourceGear was starting that involved a new character, Evil Mastermind. Following that, and a trip to SD West, he posted another blog entry offering Evil Mastermind shirts for a small, non-monetary fee. So I decided to take them up on the offer and followed his directions.
Last week, the package finally arrived.
I was so excited that I opened it up and had my wife take pictures of me.
And the following picture is my payment for the shirt.
I have now done items 1 and 2 on their list and the email will be sent right after I finishing posting this. So Mr. Sink, considered this paid in full.
And for all of those around me, expect to see me in this shirt quite frequently. I have a particular interest in wearing shirts that nobody else around me own.

A little while back I let me hair grow out. OK, that isn’t really the truth. I let it grow out because my barber, Kari, didn’t have time to cut my hair. So before cutting it, I decided to take some fun pictures with different hairstyles. This was mostly as a present for my mom who really likes my hair longer (at least longer than I prefer my hair).
So here are the pictures that I took.
